The group working on Under the Sea chose to build their animation around the phrase hěn gāo xìng jiàn dào nǐ (很高兴见到你) or “it’s nice to meet you”. The pupils involved in creating this animation wrote their scripts based on the phrases they had learned while following the Radio Lingua One Minute Mandarin course over four weeks.
The pupils designed their characters and set and completed the animation in a two-day Radio Lingua Schools workshop. They used I Can Animate stop frame animation software and iMovie to create their movies and then recorded soundtracks using Garageband.
Well done to Francesca, Harry, Liam M, Liam R and Taylor for your work on this animation. I was particularly impressed with the efforts you made on your tones when speaking in Mandarin. I also liked it when Flipper and Speedy shook hands!
