What kind of information do you collect?
This applies to all information collected or submitted on the Radio Lingua website. On some pages you can order products, sign up to receive materials, and make requests relating to support queries. The types of personal information collected at these pages are:
- Email address
- Phone number (where applicable)
- Interests (certain newsletter promotions only)
Please note that we do not store financial details on our server. All financial details are processed by our payment processors.
How do you use information about me or my educational institution?
We use the information you provide about yourself when completing an order to process that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete the order.
We use the information you provide about yourself when signing up to our email newsletter to send you the newsletter. In some cases we ask for your language interests or type of institution and use the information you provide to send information relating to that language or level. We do not share your information with outside parties.
We use non-identifying and aggregate information to improve our website and services. We may use this type of information with prospective advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area of our website or that Y number of individuals from country Z have made purchases on our website. However, we never disclose any information which could be used to identify those individuals.
Any email you receive from Radio Lingua in the form of an email newsletter will always have an unsubscribe link at the end of the email. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We never share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above.
How is my information protected?
To prevent unauthorised access, maintain data accuracy and to ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect online.
What if I’m younger than 16?
We are aware that many of the learners who take part in Radio Lingua Schools workshops will enjoy visiting our site and seeing their work in our gallery. Protecting the privacy of younger users is especially important. For that reason we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we know are under 16. While some content on our site is aimed specifically at young people, eg. School Run French and the Radio Lingua Schools Gallery, we ask all users aged 16 or under to get the permission of a parent/guardian before providing any personal information. Users without this consent are not allowed to provide us with personal information.
Can I access the information that Radio Lingua holds on me?
You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain by writing to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and formally requesting this information. We use this procedure to safeguard your information. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access to your information.
